Overview

The Short Disclosures page aggregates European short selling disclosure data from five regulatory sources: FCA (UK), BaFin (Germany), CONSOB (Italy), AFM (Netherlands), and FI (Sweden).

Track net short positions, identify the biggest movers, and drill into individual holders' portfolios to understand who is shorting what and how their positions are changing. Five view modes let you slice the data from different angles: raw positions, biggest movers, company-level aggregates, top-shorted companies, and top holders with expandable sub-tables.

What you can do

Data Sources

  • Source selector: All / UK / Germany / Italy / Netherlands / Sweden (each with flag emoji)
  • Metadata bar: Last Update timestamp, total Positions count, Companies count, Holders count

Views & Analysis

  • Five view modes: All Positions, Biggest Movers (sorted by change), Company Movers (aggregate by company), Top Companies (most-shorted), Top Holders (largest holders with expandable sub-tables)
  • Position details: Position Date, Source, Company (linked), ISIN, Holder, Net Short %, Change, Position Value
  • Colour coding: red for >= 1% net short, orange for >= 0.7%
  • Top Holders drill-down: click any holder row to expand and see all their short positions
  • Adaptive search: filters adjust to the active view (company name, holder name, or ISIN)

Tips

  • Use "Biggest Movers" daily to spot which positions are being increased or decreased the fastest
  • The "Top Holders" view lets you reverse-engineer a hedge fund's short book — expand a holder to see their full portfolio
  • Filter by country to focus on a specific regulatory regime — useful when jurisdiction-specific events (elections, regulation) are in play
  • Cross-reference with the Borrow Data page: if a name shows up in both European short disclosures and the Hard to Borrow list, the short thesis has global backing
  • Colour coding is your friend — red (>= 1%) positions are significant and worth investigating
